Among the mechanical characteristics of aluminum are the following:
Easy to machine.
Very malleable, it allows the production of very thin sheets.
Quite ductile, it allows the manufacture of electrical cables.
Soft material (Mohs scale: 2-3). Tensile strength limit: 160-200 N / mm2 [160-200 MPa] in the pure state, in the alloyed state the range is 1400-6000 N / mm2. Duralumin is a particularly strong alloy.
Material that forms alloys with other metals to improve mechanical properties.
It allows the manufacture of parts by casting, forging and extrusion.
Weldable material
