What is aluminum and what is it for?

Aluminum is a non-ferromagnetic metal represented in the periodic table by the symbol for Al. It constitutes about 8% of the earth's crust and is present in rocks, vegetation and animals. Due to its low density and high resistance to corrosion, it is a metal used in many sectors.

  • Transportation: aluminum cast parts such as pistons, wheels, suspensions, even structures and bodies are manufactured.

  • Electricity and communication: it allows to transport electricity much more efficiently, apart from also being used in antennas and satellites.

  • Construction: it is used to build windows, doors, roofs, and it is increasingly used for ornamental and decorative purposes.

  • Containers: cans, aluminum foil, yogurt lids, tetrabrik, etc. are manufactured.
