What characteristics does Aluminum have?

.

.

.

  • Lightweight, strong and long lasting

.

Aluminum is a very light metal with a specific weight of 2.7 g / cm3, one third the weight of steel. Its resistance can be adapted to the desired application by modifying the composition of its alloy.

.

.

  • very resistant to corrosion

.

Aluminum naturally generates an oxide layer that makes it highly resistant to corrosion. Different types of surface treatment can further enhance this property. It is especially useful for those products that require protection and conservation.

.

.

  • Excellent conductor of electricity

.

Aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat and electricity and, relative to its weight, it is almost twice as good a conductor as copper.

.

.

  • Good reflection properties

.

Aluminum is a good reflector of both light and heat. This characteristic, together with its low weight, makes it the ideal material for reflectors, for example, in the installation of fluorescent tubes, light bulbs or rescue blankets.

.

.

  • Very ductile

.

Aluminum is ductile and has a low density and melting point. In a molten state, it can be processed in different ways. Its ductility allows aluminum products to be manufactured very close to the final design of the product.

.

.

  • Completely waterproof and odorless

.

Aluminum foil, even when rolled to a thickness of 0.007mm, remains completely waterproof and does not allow substances to lose even the slightest aroma or flavor. In addition, the metal is not toxic, nor does it smell or taste.

.

.

  • Fully recyclable

.

Aluminum is one hundred percent recyclable without reducing its qualities. The recovery of aluminum at the end of its useful life requires little energy. The recycling process requires only five percent of the energy that was needed to produce the initial metal. With recycled aluminum we can re-manufacture the same products from which it comes.
